Prospects: Houston Astros

Houston Astros – Top 5 Prospects for the 2010 Fantasy Baseball Season. Rankings are based on a Prospects potential to make a fantasy baseball impact during the 2010 season.

#1 – Jason Castro – C – Age: 22

The clear cut catcher of the future for the Astros, Castro at age 22 is still extremely raw in terms of minor league experience, as his highest level of play includes just 63 games played at Double A during the 2009 season. However with the Astros somewhat empty handed at catcher to begin the 2010 season, Castro will likely be pushed along swiftly and could easily find himself starting in Houston at some point during the 2010 season. Castro does not offer outstanding power potential, but he does possess a solid approach at the plate that should translate into a batting average around .290, as well as numbers resembling 10-15 homeruns and 60 rbi over the coarse of a full season.
