Arizona Diamondbacks – Top 5 Prospects for the 2010 Fantasy Baseball Season. Rankings are based on a Prospects potential to make a fantasy baseball impact during the 2010 season.
#1 – Brandon Allen – 1B – Age: 24
The addition of Adam LaRoche eliminates Allen’s stake as the opening day starting 1B for the Diamondbacks to begin the 2010 season, but at age 24 and having a proven minor league track record, Allen is the potential 1B of the future for the Diamondbacks. However, in order for Allen to play everyday and continue to gain experience, he will likely start the 2010 season at Triple-A. With that said, Allen should still be considered a solid choice to receive a mid season major league call up. Truth be told, Allen is just an Adam LaRoche injury or trade away from making a significant impact for fantasy baseball teams in 2010. In his prime, Allen has the potential to be a middle of the batting order hitter who could easily tally 20 plus homeruns and 80 plus rbi.
