2013 Deep Sleepers – Top 10

Deep Sleepers are based on players who are flying under the radar to begin the 2013 season, and are players to consider drafting with one of your final picks in your fantasy baseball draft, or simply keep an eye on to begin the 2013 season and consider picking up off the waiver wire if needed.

Jedd Gyorko – 2B/3B – San Diego Padres

The Padres 2nd round pick in the 2010 draft, Gyorko was an experienced college player who has quickly rose through the Padres minor league system. With a breakout season between Double A and Triple A in 2012 that resulted in 30 home runs and 100 RBI, Gyorko has an advanced offensive approach and plenty of run producing ability. Unfortunately as a third baseman, Gyorko is blocked my Chase Headley at that position in San Diego. A transition to second base should be in store for Gyorko in 2013, so that the Padres can get his bat in the everyday lineup.
